How much is my business worth?
This will depend on a number of factors, including the timing of the sale, the condition of the business and the buyer’s motive for acquiring your business. There are a number of different valuation techniques available that will act as a guide, but a business is only actually worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

How long will it take to sell my business?
There is no easy answer to this question, but our proactive marketing approach will give you the best chance of selling your business on a timely basis. Generally speaking, it can take between 6 – 12 months, although sometimes it can be quicker, or maybe even a little longer.

What is the Sales Memorandum?
Also referred to as an Information Memorandum, this is the main sales document for the business. It provides potential purchasers with key details of the business, operating and financial performance, details of management and employees, opportunities and threats facing the business and trading forecasts.

What are Heads of Agreement?
This is a document that sets out the key terms of the deal agreed between the vendor and purchaser.

What is an exclusivity agreement?
This is an agreement that grants the potential purchaser exclusive access to the vendor’s business for an agreed period of time. This is when the buyer conducts Due Diligence. The vendor agrees that they will not negotiate with any other parties during this time.

What is Due Diligence?
Due diligence is when the purchaser’s accountants and legal team carry out a formal investigation of the target business to confirm the purchaser’s view of the business (or even to uncover other areas for consideration) and it’s value.
